A Murder is Announced
By Agatha Christie. Adapted by Leslie Darbon

The story begins with an unusual advertisement in the local newspaper of
Chipping Cleghorn. This announces that a murder is to take place at Little
Paddocks, the home of Letitia Blacklock, at 6:30 pm on Friday 13th. The
announcement is met with a mix of disbelief and curiosity by the residents.
Could it be a game, a hoax, a threat? A party gathers at the house at the
time specified to witness the event.
As the clock strikes 6:30, the lights go out, and an intruder bursts into
the room, firing a gun. When the lights are turned back on there is a body
on the floor.
Join Miss Marple in unravelling the tangled web which reveals itself through
humour, drama and excitement.

ROBINSON CRUSOE
BY BOB HEATHER AND ROGER LAMB

JANUARY 2025

In the busy 18th Century port of Portsmouth, Robinson Crusoe
(son of Olivia Crusoe – landlady of a dockside inn) and his sweetheart,
Polly Perkins, find a bottle containing a treasure map. Robinson believes
he can win Polly’s hand if he succeeds in finding the treasure.
The pair of them, together with Squire Perkins, Olivia and Robinson’s
brother, Billy, arrange to travel to the desert island where the treasure
is hidden. They engage Captain Hand to command their ship – little
knowing that he is, in fact, a pirate, and has designs on the treasure himself.

Will the intrepid treasure seekers survive aboard Captain Hand’s ship or
will they come to a watery end? Who will be the first to discover the treasure
on a desert island inhabited by cannibals? Will Robinson Crusoe ever return
to Portsmouth – with the treasure – and Polly’s hand in marriage? Or will they
all end up in the cooking pot?

Come along and cheer Robinson Crusoe and his Pompey friends as they take to the high seas in our wonderful, traditional family pantomime!
