SPIDER'S WEB

BY

AGATHA CHRISTIE

Everything was in place.  The house was quiet, nothing was amiss.  Then came the murder.

For Clarissa Hailsham-Brown, the plan for the evening was wonderfully simple.  The guests had been sent off to the golf club for dinner, the servants to the pictures, chocolate mousse was waiting in the schoolroom, and her husband was due home with the career opportunity of a lifetime.

It was to be a perfectly quiet evening in.

That is, until Clarissa trips over a dead body in the drawing room.

What follows is anything but peaceful.  Suddenly, Clarissa finds herself caught in a web of lies (some of which are her own), with murder, hidden doorways, secret drawers and answers that only lead to more questions adding to the mystery.  With a house full of secrets and a cast of increasingly suspicious characters, she must rely on her wit, imagination and ingenuity to unravel the mystery, while somehow keeping herself and everyone else out of trouble.

But the more Clarissa discovers and the more tales she must spin, the more tangled the web becomes.

Who is lying? Who has something to hide? And who is the murderer?

Full of twists, wit, suspense, shenanigans and plenty of tomfoolery, Agatha Christie's Spider's Web is a deliciously devious whodunit that will keep you guessing right to the very end.

"What sets Spider's Web apart from most specimens of its overstuffed genre, is that its real motive is fun; all else - dropped clues, plot contrivances - is secondary.  And the Lady of Copplestone Court, Clarissa Hailsham-Brown, has a talent to amuse"
- Alvin Klein, The New York Times
