Polly has to become a boy, and fast. Her country is at war, again, and her brother joined up and disappeared.
She needs to enlist to find him. And now her troop needs to take the fight to the biggest stronghold in the country, with nothing but the army's most cunning sergeant, a vampire officially pretending not to be one, and a wet blanket for a Lieutenant.
